Andrew Williams

Andrew Williams has been in love with photography since his first Kodak Brownie 127 camera aged12 which he still has and he’s been taking photographs ever since; although the camera has changed! After many years in corporate engineering and IT, Andrew decided to follow his heart and work as a full time professional photographer and workshop leader.

Since 2006 Andrew has been developing and presenting a range of sell out photographic workshops for clients such as the Royal Horticultural Society, Liverpool University,Cheshire County Council and the Brindley Arts Centre and presented masterclasses at the last four SWPP  conventions Thinking he’d left IT behind, his previous computer experience and Chartered IT Professional (CITP), Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS) qualifications have become essential tools in the digital age of photography. But now he’s his own IT Manager!

Andrew is an avid user of software such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. He has written articles on computing and photographic techniques for Advanced Photographer, Photography Monthly and Professional ImageMaker.

Andrew’s work covers a range of subjects including flower photography, close up and macro subjects and panoramic images. He is passionate about abstract images where thes ubject is less important than the shapes and textures. A river mud bank becomes a mountain range; decaying petals reveal subtle structures and colours.Just like gazing into the flames in a fire the subject becomes immaterial and imagination takes over.

Starting with a firm belief that everyone has a ‘creative eye’ Andrew gets a real buzz from encouraging his customers to discover their own individual view on the world of photography.

Andrew is a Licentiate of the British Professional Photographer’s Association (LBPPA) and the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS).
