It is common to arrive at a scene and become almost overwhelmed with the notion that there are so many photographs that can be made but you cannot find one! This workshop is about understanding how to make order from chaos - making sense of the scene.
Nature is chaotic and a photograph needs to make a clear statement if it is to be understood by the viewer. This photography workshop is not simply about using camera controls, but how to control your thought processes when being faced with a challenging subject. Knowing what to include and, often more importantly, what to exclude from the frame is vital and will be a constant challenge on this workshop.
If you can make sense of the scene you are less likely to make the same picture that everybody has taken. You will make you own interpretation of the scene as you saw it.
This workshop is not about simply 'looking' but 'seeing' and you the photographer finding you own visual signature in the image.
Based in Malham, this four day field workshop is superbly located in the Yorkshire Dales. There are many great locations within a few miles of the hotel, helping us to capture the best light of the day.
