Lake District - Black & White Photography

You will spend a full day from dawn until dusk with Paul learning how to make expressive and dramatic landscape images. Paul will explain how to obtain superb depth of field, accurate exposure and stunning composition in some of the most beautiful settings in the English Lake District, an area that Paul has photographed for many years.

After a day in the field you will spend a day processing these images and creating prints.   You will learn how to take a digital image and 'develop' it much as you would have done in the days of film, developers and enlargers.  

You will cover the following:

• Understanding colours as 'tones' of grey
• Composition in black & White photography
• Methods of converting colour digital files into black and white
• The functions and controls in Photoshop for black and white
• Mastering the Epson Advanced Black and White print driver
• Producing stunning black and white digital prints

At the end of a very informative day you will leave with an understanding of how black and white image capture differs from colour and how to produce stunning prints.
