The Western tip of Cornwall is where the land ends and the Atlantic starts, windswept beaches, dramatic cliffs and some of the best photographic light in the country. The unpredictability of the Cornish coast adds drama to the landscape and we will be there to capture this in all its glory.
Lee Pengelly has a deep love of the Cornish landscape, the quality of light, the drama and the sheer wilderness of the area draw him back time and again. Constant changes in tides and unpredictable weather conditions make Cornwall irresistible to photographers. Lee has been shooting Cornwall for the past 15 years throughout the four seasons but Winter and Spring are his favourites when the light is at its best and tourists numbers are low meaning all those great locations to yourselves.
On this workshop Lee will guide you through ocean motion capture techniques, how to shoot for layer blending and coastal compositional techniques. From our base we have an enviable location list including St Michaels Mount, Lands End, the fascinating chalk boulder bay at Porth Nanven, tin mining ruins at Botallack, small fishing coves and ancient burial chambers. Being Westerly facing the coastline around the Lands End area is especially good for stunning sunsets.
Our aim is for you to come away with a collection of images, from the iconic to the more discreet views off the tourist trail. All in all a true Cornish adventure.
