Based on the edge – literally !! – of Tal Y Llyn lake and in the shadow of the mighty Cadair Idris peak our base will be in a prime position to explore the region.
Lake and mountain locations nearby have been chosen to make the most of the dawn light and sunsets. We will also venture further afield and explore the lakes and lowlands around the base of Snowdon and a trip to shoot Caernarfon Castle illuminated at dusk. This Autumnal workshop is timed to coincide with the seasonal colours in the area, reflective lakes, waterfalls, woodland and castles surrounded with the reds, yellows and greens of the season.
On this workshop Lee will guide you through compositional techniques including how to effectively use foregrounds, coping with reflections and how to shoot for layer blending. From our base we have an enviable location list including Cregennen Lakes, Dolgoch Falls, Caernarfon Castle, Barmouth coastline, Harlech Castle and the Mawddach estuary, we will cover everything from wide sweeping coastal views and rolling welsh countryside to boats, castle details and waterfalls. Dawn and dusk shoots will be particularly good where the peaks will get the first and last light of the day. Our aim is for you to capture the essence of the region, record it’s wilderness and to come away with a varied collection of images. With good food and comfortable accommodation we can share our efforts over drinks and a meal in the evenings.
