Assynt and Inverpolly are very different areas of the Scottish mainland and are unmatched with outstanding natural beauty and ruggedness. When you are here most of the locations are only accessed by small 'B' roads which wind through woodland and forest along the edges of many small inland lochs and lochens and often arrive at immaculate secluded sandy bays and rocky shorelines that are a dream for all budding landscape photographers. The mountains of Assynt and Inverpolly are world famous for their unique shapes, which resemble steep sided spires that emerge from the open plains that often support fascinating birch scrublands.
Whilst in these parts we will visit and photograph along the shores of Loch Lurgainn above which you will see the mighty spires of Coigach, Cul Mor and probably the most famous mountain, Stac Pollaidh. We will of course drive to Loch Druin Suardalain that is nestled beneath the spectacular peaks of Suilven and Canisp. We will also venture along 'The Wee Mad Road' that hugs the side of Achmelvic, Bay of Stoer,Clactoll and the small but beautiful Clashnessie Bay and the road leads to Lochna Charin Bhain to the north.
