For over ten years aspect2i has been running workshops in the Lake District in the north west of England. This is a landscape that has been attracting artists and poets for centuries due to its almost overwhelming and boundless beauty.
It is a green and lush landscape of mountains, valleys and rivers, in which are tiny hamlets nestled that look like they have been frozen in time. Beautiful old woodlands are everywhere and the landscape is littered with footpaths and bridleways used by people wanting to escape the strife and stresses of everyday life.
In the past we have focussed on certain skills in our workshops dedicating our time to Masterclasses. After many years of exploration, we have decided to create a photography workshop experience that covers all corners of the Lake District. We will take you to the far north to the fells, marshlands and woodlands north east of Blencathra and the Skiddaw Forest and as far south to the picturesque valleys south west of Windermere that are only accessible via tiny ‘B’ Roads that wind through the landscape far away from busy Bowness on the opposite side of the lake.
Further east we will explore the surroundings of Ullswater, Brotherswater and the rivers near Hartsop, and during our time we will take the high roads from Little Langdale over the Wyrnose Pass and Hardnott Pass and photograph the often-hidden areas of Seathwaite and Dunnerdale with its woodlands and waterfalls.
No workshop exploring the valleys of the Lakes would be complete without making the trip far west to explore Wasdale and Wastwater with its almost vertical screes that cascade into the deepest lake in England formed by glaciers during the Late Devension Glaciation.
You may feel quite familiar with the Lake District but this is an adventure to places new, often unseen and certainly unspoiled in the some of the quieter valleys where you feel you have truly escaped and immersed yourself into the wilds of the Lake District. There is a lifetimes work here in the valleys of the Lake District and this workshop will show you the true essence of this National Park.
