Photography is more than the places you visit. It’s how you learn to see.

For more than fifteen years, aspect2i has helped photographers develop not only their technical skills, but the judgement, confidence and independence needed to create more meaningful photographs. Through educational photography retreats, workshops, online courses, mentoring and individual tuition, we guide photographers beyond learning how to make photographs towards understanding why they make them.

Most photography education focuses on how to use the camera or software. Those things matter, and we teach them. But we believe lasting development comes from understanding the choices behind every photograph: why this subject, why this composition, why this edit and why this image matters.

Founded by Paul Gallagher and Michael Pilkington, both Fellows of the Royal Photographic Society, aspect2i combines decades of professional experience with a shared belief that photographers develop through thoughtful guidance, constructive critique, reflection and time spent both in the landscape and studying their own work.

Whether you’re looking to move beyond technical competence, rediscover your creativity or develop a more personal way of seeing, we work alongside you rather than directing your vision. Our aim is not to produce photographs that look like ours, but to help you create work that becomes unmistakably your own.

Many photographers return to us year after year because development isn’t a destination; it’s an ongoing conversation. We’d be delighted to become part of yours.
