Learn From The Experts - Realising The Potential of Your Raw Files
Workshops
There are so many programs to choose from when we come to edit our images, but the two main players still seem to be Lightroom and Photoshop and their advocates seem keen on keeping their use separate. We think this needn't be an either or decision and when used together they can become very powerful tools indeed!
In recent years the development of Lightroom has meant many photographers now use this program alone as their image editing tool. Despite Lightroom’s development and advances there are still a number of critical steps in editing many images that can only be undertaken in Photoshop.
Image editing, is one of the most important parts of the photographic journey to the finished photograph. Taking the raw file and nurturing its colours and tones to recreate the moment you made the exposure, whether it was out in the landscape or in the studio. It is at this juncture that adhering to one image editing suite or platform is not entirely beneficial to the photographer.
Many users are either unaware of the essential tools lying within Photoshop or are put off by the apparent complexity of the interface. This course outlines how to use these essential tools and how to move seamlessly between the programs, de-mystifying the process and demonstrating the ease of use of the tools in Photoshop.
Fear not, we will not drag you through all the dialogue boxes and menus in Photoshop and blind you with the complexities the program has a reputation for. The reason for this is you certainly do not need to know or concern yourself with all the functionalities of it, but there are particular aspects of Photoshop that work beautifully with Lightroom. They are not complimentary and often have no equivalent in Lightroom.
During this online course we will demonstrate the simple features in Photoshop that can make a real improvement to your image editing. Currently many of us can edit about 90% of your image in Lightroom, but still to this date, there are some controls in Photoshop that positively outperform Lightroom or are simply not available at all and it is these controls we will be focusing on.
