Winter In Glencoe

3rd - 7th February, 2025 - with Mark Lawrence - Scotland - Fully Booked - Join The Waiting List

Glencoe and its surrounding area is without doubt one of the most awe inspiring photographic locations in all of Scotland. During the winter months this amazing landscape often takes on a staggering transformation with the arrival of snow and ice that make it a magical place indeed.

At this time of the year the sun is very low in the sky and it is often regarded as the best time to photograph the iconic Buchaille Etive Mor and the Three Sisters of Glencoe. The entire area is often transformed into a winter wonderland.

Although we will be exploring the wonderful surroundings of Glencoe, this workshop is not confined to one place and we will venture into the high open landscape of Rannoch Moor, down Glen Etive with some of the best waterfalls in the Highlands, and out to Glen Orchy and onto the banks of the mighty River Orchy that has cut deep gorges into the bedrock over thousands of years.

We will also photograph on the banks of Loch Leven that offers some of the best views to the opening of Glen Coe and the banks of Loch Linnhe with views towards the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. A workshop in Glencoe would not be complete without visiting Loch Achtriochtan nestled beneath the towering mountains of Stob Coire nan Beith and Stob Coire na Lochan.

Because this is one of Scotland’s most popular landscape photography locations, Mark will also be working with you to tease out your individuality and how you can see’ Glencoe and its surrounding areas in a different way. Whilst we will all enjoy shooting the classic locations, we believe there is always another aspect to be discovered so that you put your own stamp on it!

We know that Scotland is a long way to travel for many photographers who dearly would love to visit Glencoe so we are pleased to say we can offer you transport there and back from Preston Train Station. Preston is a west coast mainline station just over two hours from Euston, London.
